NetFlix started operations in India. It is an american company provides On-Demand internet media streaming services and DVD rental services operating worth $5.50 Billion. I don't think will went as smooth as in USA whereas huge rely on torrent sites where everybody can download for free instead of paying. Few reasons here why survival is bit hard in India.
- Huge fan-base of Torrent sites
- High pricing
- Internet Speed
- Broadband/Data charges
Torrents sites attracting approx 19 Million visitors per month where can download from pirated software, games, movies, TV shows, candid shows, etc.
Netflix offering first month free and charges 500/month later on but will India accepts this is again a big question where you can download for free .

Average Internet speed in India was 2 mbps where as 6 times lesser than US. most of the people are still on 2G connection so how can we expect quality streaming . Netflix gave an recommended speed table to avail their services with best quality , you will be shocked.
